Once you know the basics,decorating with carpets can be very simple. The first step is to ask yourslef - Do you want your carpet to be the center of attention or subtle background? If you want it to be the center of attention and make a statement,then you might want to chose a striking color such as rich burgundy or hunter green.Chose neutral color such as bone white,beige,gray,etc if it is a subtle background. When considering a color,your furniture plays an important rule.If you have a ligheter color furniture,you want to select a medium to dark colored carpet.If your furniture is dark colored,stick with a lighter color carpet so your furniture will show up nicely. Another important factor is your life style. Stay clear of lighter color carpets if you have kids (Your husbands buddies do not count). Sometimes you may want to select a carpet color based on another decorative point in the room or house. If you base you carpet color on another item in the house that is not a permanent fixture, you might get stuck with a carpet color that is difficult to work around in the future. |
